Jia Lee is a London-based Malaysian composer and sound artist working across film, art, documentary and branded storytelling. Her practice combines acoustic instrumentation with experimental electronics to create immersive sound worlds shaped by texture, atmosphere and silence.

Her piece Family Portrait, from the album Fragile Life, was nominated for the PMA’s Mark Award 2025 for Ambient Track of the Year. In 2026, her sound work for glass artist Alana Lake’s installation Keeping Company was selected for research and exhibition at the Muslab International Electroacoustic Music Exhibition — Planeta Complejo in Mexico City.

Raised in Sarawak, Malaysia, Jia began playing classical violin at twelve before moving into electronic music, synthesisers and film scoring. Her work continues to draw from the contrast between the rainforest landscapes of her upbringing and the technological worlds she now explores through sound.
